Totally Addicted To Bass

Weeks before the actual officially announced 160+ gig with Mister Grooverider, the whole city got plastered with the flyers, and because all the clubs are still closed, the people, including me, were well hungry for some broken beats, hell yeah! I was ready to part with some serious dosh for the gig. But then the last-minute shock: They moved the date and the location but we managed to scramble to the new venue just in time to get going! Diving deep into the delves of sound. I loved it, I loved it. Did I say: I loved it? Although: Mister Grooveyrider really should put a new face on, the old one don’t suit him very well. Never mind. The warm-up sound Naranja spun was out of this world, there was an amazingly anticipative crowd and the club was plush too so I was all smiles. Even more so when we learned there was to be another party on the following night, a free one in another location, as a bonus bonbon for the real lovers. We actually found this party by accident because we saw Groovyridey walking in the street and I shouted after him but he wouldn’t turn around, nothing, just walk into this place with his bods. So we just followed him up the stairs right into the Boca Football club private bar where we´d instantly start dancing to Naranjas tunes. For two hours, we were the only ones because all the other kids were too cool for school. They had to wait till the clockers would arrive, eheh. Later later the Rider was putting an end to their high energy tension mysery, rinsing them buttersoft with some superfast Drum’n’Drum, not really my gusto because it’s so aggressive. So we had Grooverider play twice but this wasn’t the end of it. All of a sudden, Bryan Gee appeared on the scene. He played three nights later in this sexy chique club called Bahrein on Lavalle. Off we went. And whereas the first world class DJ just gave me a wicked buzz, the the latter one really impressed me. Bryan Gee, this old V Recordings veteran, was just standing there, grooving into his own rhythm, and no-one and nothing got him out of this totally in tune super natural music head state of being which made him be totally in sync with the party. He was the party. He created the moments, and he did it with subtlety. Wanna be a DJ like him when I am grown up. I like this style, but I only manage to slip into this mode for half an hour, not much longer, then my concentration starts to slip. Music wise I am turning into a sample maniac. Found all kinds of seven inches, old ones, like Elvis and The Foundations, which are really rewarding drum loop wise. And I love to sing as well. Plus I compose random melodies with my mobile phone. It doesn’t work over here so it’s completely useless apart from the sweet little bleep songs I can create with it. I recorded some stuff with my dictaphone which kept me busy all night. I feel like a child again exploring something completely new. Unfortunately I am like a child which is a pain in the neck in many ways, I am trying my best to comprehend what it takes to behave more responsible and controlled because it's really a drag for myself when I resort to sulking etc instead of dealing with stuff, but hey... Once step at a time.
